Enter a brief post (50 words or less in true blog style). Your post is to include your research, process of learning, and how you intend to use your new skill in your future classrooms. Read your classmate's posts each week. Be sure to let us know what you are learning in each post. Keep track of where you have left off reading so that you don't have to read all of the entries again. If you need to edit your post, click on the little pencil below your post. Feel free to check in on Group 2 at any time, though http://learn-new-technology-2.blogspot.com/. Having two groups just keeps your reading load down a bit.

ReplyDeleteI am so looing forward to meeting eith everyone on Saturday! Yes! I am excited to share what I have learned about Cloud. Not much as of yet but enough to feel more comfortable playing around with it, thanks to friends showing me how they use it and some other things we can do with Cloud. See ya'all this Saturday. Will we have access to the computer for our presentations and will we be able to access our personal email is my main concern...Ciao
Lately, I've been stopping all my teacher friends and co-workers to ask, "How are you using technology in your classroom?" I think they're starting to get suspicious that I'm testing their tech acumen and abilities. But I'm actually getting some information for my presentation. All the reading and research in the world can't match what is real--and who better than the teachers who are in the classroom every day? We are the ones that have to fit the technology to the need--and make the outcome measurable, not a burden or convolution.
ReplyDeleteI talked with the instructor at the local CC and they have a Sawstop and saved two fingers this week with the technology. Young man was cutting and looked away, thanks to the saw he has his fingers. You'll get a chance to see this great technology on Saturday.
ReplyDeletePutting the final touches on my presentation this morning. Frustrated with the difficulty in creating a teachertube file that fit the necessary parameters for the site. I finally got it figured out, but it unsync'd my audio. Grr
ReplyDeletepost by Amber: I learned a ton from everyones presentations yesterday and came home TIRED but with a lot of good ideas that I want to take back to my PLC. Great job everyone!
ReplyDeleteI'm experimenting with a file converter program that can compress very large file sizes. Hoping quality doesn't change.
ReplyDeleteIt was real nice to meet everyone last week. I am already putting the ideas to use. This week I met with staff and we committed to creating a program website and doing online peer editing. We are looking at other tech ideas for the more distant future...
ReplyDeleteI am behind but have good stuff to share! After my turnitin presentation I went back to school and worked on the assignment created around the learning of the website. I had the kids writing a narrative so there would be little chance of plagiarism but BOY OH BOY did so many other problems arise ... biggest: kids on MACS at home had issues posting their papers. When I arrived to school on Tuesday I had 72 emails from frustrated students and their parents. More later ... The problems are just beginning!
