Enter a brief post (50 words or less in true blog style). Your post is to include your research, process of learning, and how you intend to use your new skill in your future classrooms. Read your classmate's posts each week. Be sure to let us know what you are learning in each post. Keep track of where you have left off reading so that you don't have to read all of the entries again. If you need to edit your post, click on the little pencil below your post. Feel free to check in on Group 2 at any time, though http://learn-new-technology-2.blogspot.com/. Having two groups just keeps your reading load down a bit.

Lesson Planning
ReplyDeleteHello! Lesson planning is always fun and being aware of the EALR;'s and Leadership, Employability, and Accomodations always ties it together. My students do not have one-on-one Instructional Assistants so in a large class, having students with various accomodations must always be in the forfront when planning. Every Wednesday's we have new student enroll and added onto our rosters. This sometimes changes class dynamics, especially in some students feeling "safe". It has been a great experience for me in that I learn so much about myself by teaching others. So many blessings! Happy Thanksgiving ya'all!

Thanks for an informative course. It's always fun to delve into a new technology. I've learned about several new ones that I'm excited to try out in the classroom. Teaching a video course at a communications school makes many of these a natural progression with where we are, to where we'd like to be going in the program. thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you as well all as we learn form the course and each other. No am am interested in gettingmore technology in my classroom. Next year I have a grant opportunity and should get it, I hope! My biggest hope is to stay in touch with some of you, pick your brain now and then.
ReplyDeleteBY AMBER:
ReplyDeleteI have continued to work on expanding my Excel skills with a co-worker who could basically write the book on how to do everything in Excel. I also started playing around with Prezi and LOVE it. Since the holidays are here my husband and I are also trying to get up to date on video cameras and burning DVDs and putting clips online for the family to see. So much to learn and I feel like as soon as I do, it is outdated with some new fancy technology.
I just added a little blurb in the class mailbox forum "Tech Notes," but feel like repeating it here.
ReplyDeleteI've had word from the head art teacher at one of my schools that I might be asked to teach a 3D industrial design class next year. Seems to me that the directors are so excited to purchase a 3D printer, they're jumping at the chance to justify the course! I was wondering if any of you have had experience with a 3D printer...and what software you might recommend. I've done some exploration with Rhino, but wonder if there's something newer/better/art school friendly...?
I continue to impress upon myself (it's not easy being me) the importance of technology in the classroom -- a fight against my humanity every day. Don't you sometimes just fantasize about the classroom where everyone plunks down in a beanbag chair, or sits cross-legged on the floor, and talks about what they've seen on the street or read in a book, magazine or newspaper?
Thanks to everyone for sharing all of your knowledge. It is good to know that there are answers to my questions! My lesson plan is a work in progress. Thanks for the feedback.
ReplyDeleteWOW, that last post was from Greg... technology once again kicking my butt!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the posts everyone. I have enjoyed reading them and look forward to the opportunity and TIME to learn a few more tech tools for my bag of tricks. My fight with turnitin continues ... I thought I would get the chance to log in and start looking at papers but alas, sickness has taken over my household and I was busy playing Florence Nightingale and was unable to muster the energy to read 90 EPIPHANY essays. Until next time ... take care and I hope to see some of you again in future classes.
